Investigating
Chicago
Putting the Great Sherlock Holmes to Work
Patricia Nowak Izban & Donald B. Izban
Investigating Chicago is a cultural guide to this
great American
city – at once light-hearted, witty, informed, selective, and
specially appealing to Sherlockians. For instance, the section titled
"Starrettville" focuses on Vincent Starrett, famed for his "Books
Alive" column. Museums, restaurants, hotels, statues, parks ... here
is a book for the armchair traveller to read as well as the visitor to
consult. They revel in "the city alive." The authors are Patricia
Nowak Izban, who is a scion of the Baker Street Irregulars, and Donald
B. Izban, is the same as well as a member of the Praed Street
Irregulars. The illustrations throughout are the work of Paul
Churchill who has prepared illustrations for over three dozen books.
