Richard F. Stewart, a native of Dundeen, Scotland, is the author of a book devoted to a solution to Dickens’s Edwin Drood as well as The Great Detective Case of 1877, which deals with corruption at Scotland Yard.
The subtitle of the current book is “Chapters on the History of Detective Fiction.” It examines, in particular, the relationship between Victorian literature of sensation and detective fiction with special reference to the works of Poe, Collins, and Doyle.
