Judson P. Philips

Another Lost Treasure from the Pulps #11

This handsome, two-volume set called The Compleat Park Avenue Hunt Club makes available for the first time all thirty-six serials that chronicle the adventures of three lively, New York-based "gentlemen adventurers" (plus their manservant Wu). The author of these lively and well-written serials was Judson P. Philips (1903-1989), who occasionally employed the pseudonym "Hugh Pentecost". His serials originally appeared in pulp magazines between 1934 and 1944 and were hailed for their fast-moving action and vivid characterization.

Volume One reprints 17 serials and includes essays by collector Robert Weinberg and editor Garyn G. Roberts.

Volume Two reprints 19 serials and includes, as well, Rodney Schroeter’s essays about this amazing, long-lasting series.
